Lucia Marchetti

SARChI Postdoctoral Fellow

I have obtained my MSc in Astronomy in 2008 and my PhD in Astronomy in 2012 both from the University of Padova. From July 2017 I am a SARChi fellow in Astronomy at the University of Cape Town (joint position with UWC). Between 2012 and 2017 I was an STFC PDRA in Astronomy at the Open University (UK). I am specialized in extragalactic astronomy, exploiting space and ground based observations towards the multi-wavelength identification, physical characterisation and statistical studies of star-forming galaxies and gravitational lensing systems. In 2016 I have been awarded of the DST-NRF young research career fellowship.
