Matt Jarvis

SKA Visiting Professor

I have held an SKA Visiting Professorship at UWC since 2010, with my main job based at the University of Oxford. My research interests are on observational constraints on galaxy formation and cosmology. I lead the VISTA Infrared Deep Extragalactic Observations (VIDEO) Survey, and am the co-PI of of MeerKAT-MIGHTEE survey, along with Russ Taylor. I have also played a leading role in various optical, mid-IR and far-IR surveys along the way. I am a PI in LSST, and am the UK point of contact for the deep drilling fields. I also have ongoing interests in using Gaussian Processes in astronomy, in particular to determine photometric redshifts.
