Bengaly, Carlos

I have held a SKA SA postdoc fellowship in UWC since early 2017, just after finalising my PhD in Cosmology in the Observatório Nacional of Brazil. My research interest is focused on testing fundamental hypothesis in Cosmology, mainly the Cosmological Principle, which comprises the assumption of large-scale isotropy and homogeneity of the Universe – one of the pillars of the current paradigm of Cosmology. The SKA will provide a great opportunity for performing such tests given its very large sky coverage, and the deep redshift ranges that it can reach, hence my goal is to forecast the constraints that SKA will be able to impose on such hypotheses.
